A brief historical overview of New England Franco American participation in labor unions and the pulp and paper industry, including comments on factors of place and gender. Social contexts of Livermore Falls and Rumford Falls around the time of the concerned strike, and the impact of the strike on the communities in both towns. Includes local demographic data.
