Some historical and theoretical discussion of the concept of the "borderland," particularly as it has been considered for Franco Americans within the contexts of Québec, Atlantic Canada, and the US Northeast. The convergence of the Francoeur family's identities as they extend across national borders with those that negotiate the borders of their ethnic neighborhood.
