Biographical data "concerning the deported Acadians (ca. 1755), which comes not only from memorials written by or for them (or against them), but also from sources such as an account of expenses, [etc.]...." Prefaced with a brief history of Acadian entries at the port of Boston. Text includes governmental proceedings, legal proceedings, placement and housing, and the geographical distribution of Acadians shipped to Massachusetts in exile of their former home. Volume I concerns from Barnstable to Nantucket Counties, MA. Volume II concerns from Plymouth to York Counties, MA. Also includes an index of the surnames of deportees.
